In-Person Book Club Session at the 2025 Conference
Join us for our in-person book club session at the 2025 Women in Chemicals Conference where we will dive into the concepts introduced by Michael Urtuzuástegui Melcher in his book Your Invisible Network: How to Create, Maintain, and Leverage the Relationships That Will Transform Your Career.
Session Summary: This 75-minute, in-person session builds on the success of our virtual Quarterly Book Club. It will be interactive and engaging, allowing attendees to participate in various exercises to spur discussion, put Your Invisible Network’s concepts into action, and enhance networking skills. This session is open to all conference attendees, regardless of if you read Your Invisible Network or not. Familiarization with the book is helpful but not required to get the most out of this session.
About Your Invisible Network and Michael Urtuzuástegui Melcher:
Your Invisible Network provides a practical, nuanced plan for building and sustaining a network that will supercharge your growth. Every chapter contains compelling true stories along with quick lessons and manageable practice exercises. You’ll learn how to recognize the seven types of relationships critical for your career success, foster meaningful connections with people with whom you have little in common, find mentors and sponsors, reach out to people despite discomfort—and know what to do if they don’t respond, serve as a resource and benefactor to others, develop your convening power, and build a happier and more fulfilled work life. No matter what career stage you’re in, this book will help you reevaluate your network and equip yourself with the tools to boost its power!
